Abiding in Christ - What is it Anyway?

Kirby’s greatest passion is to encourage others in their daily walk with Jesus. Based on the content from her first book, “Abiding in Christ - What is it Anyway,” this talk is sure to inspire listeners to want to walk more intimately with the Lord. Bringing scripture to life, Kirby offers practical applications of God’s Word to help enrich one’s daily quiet time and find joy in walking closely with Jesus.

Abiding at Christmas time

Make this Christmas season different, set apart from any other. Immanuel, God with us, is God’s gift to us. This talk will help the audience be intentional in ways that will enable them to experience God’s Presence and His Peace during a season that often fills overwhelming.

Beautifully Broken

There is such freedom when we can come to a place of surrender and lay our own broken pieces into our Creator’s hands. In this presentation, Kirby uses the visual analogy of “Kintsugi,” a Japanese art which repairs broken pottery with resin and gold. The greater the brokenness, the more valuable that broken vessel becomes because of the potter’s work. This talk is designed to help listeners gain hope in the midst of adversity as they learn how to be transparent with others and to trust God with their brokenness. (This talk can be combined with a fun hands on “Kintsugi” activity where participants break their own bowls and craft them back together.)

Walking Through Fire Without Getting Burned

Life sometimes brings us to an unexpected crossroad and we’re given the opportunity to choose how we will walk the road we’ve been put on. We decide whether we will be bitter or become better. This talk is based on Kirby’s second book, “Walking Through Fire Without Getting Burned,” which provides tools to help us keep our eyes on Jesus as we walk through difficult times. (Content that can be included: Reconciliation, Forgiveness, Being a Peacemaker not a Peacekeeper, the Importance of Gratitude, Guarding our Tongue, Using Trials to Point Others to Jesus)

All the World’s a Stage - Do Others See a Difference in You?

As Christians we have ongoing choices as to how we act out the trials in our lives. Do we react: 1) In the Flesh - as the world does, centered on pleasing self? or 2) In the Spirit - living out God’s Word by His power which dwells within us? This is a memorable evening (or as part of a retreat) where Kirby guides her audience in experiencing how to “put on” God’s Word. Small groups will work together to act out various Bible verses when given hypothetical dilemmas they must solve. A hand out of the scripture used is provided for participants to take home.
