#4. Abiding in Christ - What If You Lack the "Want To"?

Honey, I know we’ve been married for ten years, but I’m just not feeling it anymore with you. I’m really not sure if I still love you and I don’t know if I even want to try to make things work. I just don’t have the want to. I’m really busy right now with a lot of important things to do. . .

How would that make YOU feel if your spouse shared those words with you? What would you do if he asked you to help him love you more or asked if you could help him want to spend time with you?

God will never withdraw His love from us if we stop loving Him. God is never ever offended when we come to Him with an honest heart, no matter what our thoughts. Our God is big enough to handle anything we bring to Him. He created us for relationship with Him. God invites us to come and to share with Him. We see his invitation in Matthew 11:28-29:

“Come to me, all who are weak and weary and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Pour out your doubts and fears and grumblings to God. He is faithful and good to love you unconditionally. Ask Him today:

  • to reveal to you what you need to know about abiding

  • to give you the “want to” to abide

  • to show you what you need to change in order to abide in Him.

Do you want to abide in Christ?
